THINGS TO DO IN RISHIKESH

1: Flying Fox

Flying fox in Rishikesh is Asia’s longest one. It’s a complete fun activity that you will gladly go for. With the help of a rope and harness you are transported from one hill to another by gravity.
Like the name suggests you feel like you are flying as you can fully stretch your arms and keep your eyes open throughout the length. It is a completely safe, fun activity that, you can also enjoy with your family. It is generally done in bathes of three participants at a time.

2: Neelkanth Temple

Visiting Neelkanth temple once in lifetime should be in your bucket list. The temple is one of the most revered holy shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and is a prominent Hindu pilgrimage site. It is about 22 km from Rishikesh.

You will love the location of the temple, enveloped between the valleys, surrounded by the dense forest. Famous Kaanvad yatra of the pilgrims ends at this point, the faith and belief can be witnessed during the holy expedition by the bhakts of Lord Shiva.

Since you are already here, so might as well visit the temple and pay a tribute to Hindu mythology – the memories of churning of sea (samudramanthan) myth and intaking of the poison by lord Shiva that was supposed to be consumed by the Gods. And this could even play as a permission factor for your parents or guardians.

3: Kunjapuri Temple Trek

Like they say “in every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks” you will connect with the nature the most while trekking, it is guaranteed. You can savour the path, smell of woods, continuous chirping of crickets, inhaling pure oxygen in your lungs etc. The entire trek seems tireless with such purity of atmosphere. You could also have some energy booster wild fruits berries (Hinsar, Karunda & Kaafal) on your way. They are small in sizes but very juicy and delectable but only try them with the guidance of our trek guide.

Kunjapuri temple is about 25 km from Rishikesh and is an ideal trek to enjoy sunrise. It is a breathtaking view from the top – white snow covered Himalaya peaks and holy peaceful Ganges if you look below. The sunrise from this picturesque view rejuvenates you immediately and fills you with so much positivity that you will crave for that feeling, the moment you come back from there.

Just one tip – don’t forget to pack water to keep you hydrated while trekking.

4: Neer Waterfall

Nature is full of surprises and hidden gifts. One such is the Neer Garh waterfall, at a 5 km distance from Laxman Jhula. The beautiful fall has a pool where you could dive in to shed all your worries and absorb the peaceful nature and purity of atmosphere.

You can reach Neer Waterfall by bike or car or by trek through the jungle. Our suggestion is the bike that way you can avoid the occasional traffic and you will be able to appreciate the environment and enjoy nature the most

6: Parmarth Niketan

Parmarth Niketan is a perfect place to stay in the valley along the banks of Ganges and try to find the inner peace. It is a known name amongst all the tourists who come from all across the globe. You could visit Parmarth Niketan after crossing the Laxman Jhula.

It is capable of accommodating more than 1000 pilgrims or tourists at a time. It is the best place to practice yoga, meditation and Ganga Aarti. These are some of the daily routine activities of the ashram. Apart from this the inside of the ashram is beautifully designed with the Hindu mythology characters and instances with the brief engraved in it which compels the visitor to take an entire round of the ashram.

7: Vashishtha Cave

Vashishtha cave is another perfect place for deep meditation. If meditation interests you then this is a must visit place. There is always someone inside the cave whom you will find meditating. Again it has a white sand beach where you could sit on the rocks and empty your mind from all the stress.

8: Zip-line

Have you ever imagined that you can have wings and fly over the clouds & rivers, between the woods, like super heroes? No matter how crazy it does sounds, it’s possible! To make this possible you should try your hand at this amazing adventurous sport Zip-lining.

What draws people to the zip-lining experience in Rishikesh is it’s the scenic views of nature and the spell bounding view of the Ganges. Like all our adventure sports we take proper safety measures and the highest of standards practiced by the well trained team.
